Earlier this month, I hosted my first ever Twitter Party for Valentine’s Day. Whew, intense! When I’d logged into TweetChat at the scheduled time, the “party room” was already buzzing. (Women love to Tweet, don’t they?)
Within the hour, more than 50 women showed up to Tweet about love letters and falling in love. Yes, we joked about the fact that no men had come to the party!
One of my favorite Tweets — from mom-to-be BodhiBear who’s due in June — summed up the evening perfectly:
“It was fun and has me in a sweet, mushy mood.”
One of the best parts was when we talked about writing a love letter to yourself. I asked, “What’s your favorite attribute about YOU?”

As for my Valentine’s Day, it was quiet – with my son at home and puttering about as was I. And my writing yesterday was, indeed, a love letter. To a man, but also to a place, and to the woman I am in that place. There’s always more beneath the surface, when we care to take the time.
If only we did, in our hurried modes of existence, rather than living.

@Jack: Wait, were you at the Twitter party? Things moved SO fast, maybe I missed you? So, there was a guy in the mix….
I got there well after it ended as I was busy with the kids that night. I once did an exercise for some training seminar where you write “10 things I love about myself” on a card and keep it in your wallet. It’s for the days when everyone hangs up on you or says no in sales. It’s kind of cool to run across those cards in my dresser once in a while.
I hope you also had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Mine was incredibly relaxing and sweet.
