It's better to be strict now that she needs the guidance and when she's 18 she'll be your friend. You have to show M it's a give and take... you will give her the disney radio in the back, softly, and she can take it or leave it... your rules...your car... she'll get it and if she refuses, then it's NO disney radio. I still have some areas of my single parenting life that are exhausting and I need to reestablish my own queendom. *sigh* It is a battle of wills, at first, but then both you and your kids are better and not so tired at the end of the day.
