This is the final post — and your last chance to win $50 — thanks to Dr. Leah, aka The Sanity Fairy™
We’re all budgeting, but when friends come over to my home this summer, serving them plain water just doesn’t quite cut it.
These long and lazy days call out for a icy cold drink. Don’t you agree? Often, my friends drop by after exercising — when thirst is fierce. I love make sure everyone is hydrated.
Here’s how I’ve transformed my own summer get-togethers on a budget, and with sugar in mind: Crystal Light!
My friends appreciate the “no guilt/no carbs/5 calories a serving” of Crystal Light. At my July 4th bash, I served Strawberry Kiwi and White Grape.
We all know that when you gulp down a sugary drink, you crave higher calorie food. After drinking soda, that calorie-laden potato salad or tempting chips and dip just look tastier.
To help encourage discussion about hydration, I am offering one final giveaway of $50 to one lucky reader.

To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment by 07/24 (Friday) at 8PM EST and tell me: what do you offer your friends to drink when they drop by?

If you want the chance to win more, check out this $250 Visa gift card in this chit chat about hydration here.
(Please note that this post has been sponsored by Crystal Light. I am working with this company to share this message about hydration and giving others access to clean water through this sponsorship.)

I can’t wait for Crystal Light to leave.
Oh, Erica, I’m sorry! This is the last Crystal Light post… then back to, uh, real life?
Lately I have been cold-brewing tea. I have a blackberry sage tea that is fantastic cold!
Honey´s last blog post…Obama and Sarkozy Staring At Hot Chick’s Ass
When friends drop by I always usually offer water first – it’s generally the only beverage I have.
Depending on the weather, I might also offer tea or coffee….
Soda or water.
Mike´s last blog post…Lazy Weekend
We have lemonade or tea.
Bobbi Janay´s last blog post…Wordless Wednesay
I offer them what I have which is: water, tea, chocolate milk or capri suns 100% juice!
I’m with Erica–and I’m a water or wine type of person. Works for my friends, too. My kids drink milk.
I have a water pitcher from PUR that pours regular filtered water or flavors it with raspberry. It’s a big hit!!!
THANKS!

I LOVE water but we have horrible tasting tap water here in my town…I’d love to win the $50 to be able to afford to buy bottled water and some Crystal Light!
I serve them water or I keep sodas on hand because my best friend loves Mountain Dew and wants those when he’s here..I have a few friends that like Crystal Light and of course milk and tea lol
thanks!
Water, sometimes iced cold, sometimes room temperature. Just offer a beverage to quench thirst. And not too much sugar for the young at heart.
The first thing I do when someone walks in is offer them a drink: wine, water, beer (in that order). Or, on special occasions, one of my killer margaritas. These have proved to be the downfall of many.
I offer whatever I have at the time, which is usually water, milk, coffee, tea, or sometimes juice (100% juice). I don’t keep alcohol on hand.
Water is my preferred drink so that’s what I always have. If I have guests for dinner I try to whip up some juice or apple cider.
Longtime lurker here
Make flavored ice cubes: I take lemon and orange zest (just small rind pieces) and some finely shopped up strawberries and raspberries and a tea spoon of honey, and add water and freeze in my ice cube containers. Then i serve ice cold water with ice cubes from the above. for a sour/a tiny bit of sweet addition to my water.
For party times I ass some mint.
For those who don’t like water I make virgin mojitos. Ground Mint and Basil with Freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, some honey and ice! YUM!
I usually offered iced tea or coffee
…if it’s the summer sometimes I have limeade
…if it’s a saturday night, possibly wine!
Since my son and I drink only water (well, an occasional glass of wine) and milk for coffee, there is usually not much choice here. I have brewed green tea with honey for a thirsty friend of my son and will provide a beer when I know people who like it are expected. But if you just drop by the choices is water, with or without ice. Usually.
For goodness sake … if beer isn’t recession proof, I don’t know what is. (besides condoms of course) I offer my friends an ice cold beer. (all-be-it a cheap beer)
Iced club soda with a slice of lime or orange in a clear tall glass.
Colorful… Cool… Refreshing.
