I too always have my phone on when I am out just in case it is a call re: my daughter. I don’t answer the calls, they go to voice mail and I try to only check it when I am in private, to not appear as though I am not interested in the person I am with. Its out of respect for the person I am with, after all I agreed to go on the date. The least I can do is give my full attention for a few hours.

Yes, its true that he is not tied to anyone, but then why feel the need to keep in contact with another woman while on a date? I hope at the end of the date you said something to him to make him realize how rude he was being- good kisser or not.

I would have shut down TOTALLY after he said it was a lady friend!

If it was his best mate or his daughter I would have still let it slide (but still considered it a little RUDE)

And what was he texting her? “I am in my car kissing a hot girl – see you later?”

This is what I hate about modern technology — it’s turned all of us into cretins.

As a single mom (divorced mom? co-parenting mom?), I tend to keep my phone on (vibrate), because if the world comes to an end when he’s with his dad, I want my phone to be ON! But, I don’t ever answer or respond if it’s not my kid .. and if it’s an emergency.

Nearly the whole world is rude that way, so it’s no just Mr. UPS. And, of course, if you had any expectations that he was all by his lonesome, that would have been unrealistic, too.

He was honest — he had a “young thing” going, and no promises were made — but answering the text was rude. So, you learned something from this … right?

His cell phone should have been turned off UNLESS the young lady friend has a medical need and he is her emergency number or he moonlights for protective services or it’s his little adopted sister who tends to make poor choices and is addicted to crack and calls him at all odd hours. I am good at alibiing those bad boys!

Although sweet kissing is sweet kissing and it has been a while and you could turn it into the 1 night stand to empower yourself. and sometimes the booty call implies there is a potential for some great sex especially if he picks you over her)

Shucks there is where you want the last page of the book before deciding.
