Because the Mike and Juliet Show often covers all sides of single parenthood, I offered to put this call out to all of you:
The Mike and Juliet Show is doing a segment this Thursday (7/31) about living off of minimum wage. If you are a single mom earning minimum wage and struggling to pay your bills, the producers would love to hear your story!
Transportation and hotel in NYC will be provided by the show. Please email morning_show@hotmail.com asap or call 212-301-5256.
You need to be making minimum wage (no more, no less).

Good topic!
I know minimum wage is frightful, and single parenthood is daunting, especially financially, but the effects radiate all the way up the payscale.
Making too much money to qualify for assistance is difficult, too, because in some ways our tax dollars are paying for programs helping others like us, but we cannot reap the benefits.
Believe me, I would much rather be on this side of the coin than making minimum wage, just pointing out financing a family on a single income is difficult no matter how much you make.
This is such an interesting topic! Pity I dont get this show here!
I dont earn minimum wage but also dont earn enough to be able to support me and the kids 100% on my own!
I hear you, BlueBella! I’m going through that right now… working 7 days a week and still not able to keep up with the bills and rising gas and food costs. I went looking for help, but nobody would take me seriously or help me because I make too much money. Like you, I am grateful for what I do have, but I wish there was more assistance out there for people in the middle.
