  1. I am lucky this summer, depening on your point of view at least. My seven-year old is with her grandparents in NJ until late July and my two boys are at the local university program five nights a week(even though they’re old enough to be home alone) so I am alone five out of seven nights a week. It’s lonely sometimes though… lol

  2. My nanny has been taking care of Teo, my 15 month old son, for about a year now. She is the best I could ever hope for, and she has taken on another job starting in September.
She has been like a mother to him, even if she has 3 kids of her own. He took his first steps at her house, when I wasn’t there (but he did for me later at home). We celebrated his 1st birthday at her house, and he went on his first bike ride with her. In other words, being there is like his second home, with his second family.
She even picks him up and drops him off since I ride a scooter, and he can’t go with me.
We will miss her, even though she will watch him once in a great while. I am now back to searching for a great person who will take care of my son and love him like her own. I am not opposed to a “manny”, since it would be a good way for him to be around men besides Grampa and Uncle Tristan, but I doubt sittercity offers this.
Either way, perhaps Sittercity will help me find the right nanny…

  3. I’m not sure what Sittercity is all about, but if it is something that’s going to allow me to go to a real restaurant with actual adults-I’m all for it! My little one is 7yrs. old & my life goes like this: Working as a nurse 40hrs/week, racing to pick up little one from aftercare, make dinner, glance at mail, eat dinner, spend approx. 45min. w/ little one before it time for bath & bed. Weekends? Laundry, grocery shopping, kid’s birhday parties, soccer. I don’t have a network of friends or relatives who are generous enough to babysit. My mom & sister live 20min away btw. So,yeah, get me that sitter!
